Mark Donovan is the Kansas City Chiefs’ new vice president and chief operating officer. The Eagles executive was hired Thursday to direct the Kansas City’s business operations and report to president Denny Thum.

Sources say defensive coordinator Jim Johnson will take a leave of absence while undergoing more cancer treatment. The 67-year-old Johnson was diagnosed with melanoma in 2001. The team announced after the season that the cancer had returned and he had a tumor on his spine.
